I Have This Very Nice Pair Of Pink Doves Sitting On A Clear Glass Log. I Was Told That This Is A Murano Piece I Would Like To Know More Information On This Piece And What It Is Worth. I Was Offered $300.00 For It, But I Turned It Down.I find no cracks or chips. The flowers that are on top of the glass log ,are rough around the edges. I assume this was done when it was made. The log measures 15" long , from the log to the top of the birds is about 8" .And the piece is heavy.. I cant find a signature, Imaybe looking in the wrong place. I found surface scratches
Thanks on the bottom. Susan Last edited by lilsusan; 06-21-2005 at 05:45 PM.. |

Welcome to the forums!
Please upload a picture, as it is very difficult to visualize without a picture or two. Also, are there any labels or signatures? Thanks.

I dont think it is attributable to any particular artist/company, but the birds seem well made, I don't doubt that its Murano, as birds either on a birds nest or a branch are a staple item. How bad are the scratches? Are they on the bottom of the base or on the visible portions of the branch and birds?
The majority of Murano glass doesn't have a signature, so this is not unusual. Im assuming that it doesn't have a sticker... |

The scratches are on the bottom only, I find no other visable scratches anywhere else on the piece. There is no label either.
Thanks Susan |

Its hard to get an overall idea of the item from the picture, but If I had to take a wild guess, I think it may be worth around $200. The description of the roughness of the flowers edges makes me hesitate as the the finish is typically better on Murano items, but the birds seem to be well done.
