Wasn't the owner sick at one point, and the son took over? Did someone mention that fact somewhere or was it written in an article or another post? Am I going crazy?

The site is still down.....

If found an auction site, http://www.newel.com that I have never seen before with a nice collection of Murano glass, some very pricy and others less so. They hae a range of chandeliers and mirrors as well as some vases and sculptures. Good for research but priced high!

Default Nice website for researching auction results

I am still pretty much of a novice at Murano glass, but I was researching some today and found this auction site. Many good examples and auction results. Perhaps it might be of help to you too!

Default Murano Chandelier

Heres the site of a NY based antique store, Venfield who sells vintage Murano chandeliers with eye popping prices. They have some really funky Vistoni pieces. Good for research or dropping a few thousand on a chandelier.

Thanks to Langhaugh for the find. Heres the site: http://venfield.1stdibs.com/search.php?cat=B

Default Murano Lighting

I found another site, specific to Murano lighting, with many vintage pieces from the importer,Edward P. Paul Company in the 60's. The site also has a great selection of vintage lamps and historical pictures of the furnace. There are also pictures of labels for authentication and research. Below is an excerpt from the site, Swanklighting.com

Quote:
The Edward P. Paul Company originally imported these gorgeous high-end lamps from the finest Venetian glass houses including Barovier & Toso, Barbini, Seguso, and Venini. They were marketed under the BALBOA trade name and were sold exclusively at their New York City store. Later, BALBOA lamps were offered at fine department stores such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Marshall Fields

Default Thanks for the Mention

I'm so pleased you found my website http://swanklighting.com I'm new to this forum and so far I really enjoy it. I have access to tons of research on venetian/murano glass and especially lighting. So if any forum users have questions, I would be happy to try to find an answer.
Best

A well done site, pefect for researching J.I. co Murano glass was created by a Forum Member, Shandiane78. She has who has amassed a nice collection of over 100 images from of the J.I. Co (Jordan Importing Company), including clowns, tableware and vases. J.I. co is known for importing Murano glass during the 50's and 60's.

Below is a link to a site of a Venetian Antiques dealer, who has 2 pages of vintage Murano Glass as well as paintings and furniture to round out the collection. Worth a visit, pieces by Salviati, Venini, Martinuzzi, Seguso and others.

Thanks to TXSilver for the find.
