For the cat, I would start around $50. For the egg, I would start the same. You may not realize as much for the egg since it's from Venezuela (the label says it). You might put a BIN on the cat for about $70. The one problem about E-bay at the moment for Murano glass is that everyone is overpricing everything. Some things that really should only be about $40 are being priced in the $200+ range. It's silly. And of course everyone wants their pieces to be made by a famous person. Even a lot of the really new pieces that are only about 15-30 years old are being way overpriced. (Of course, all of this is IMO). There are some really stunning pieces that are rare or of museum quality but there is so, so much truly vintage Murano glass out in the world that the supply is very high versus these huge prices. But as a seller, you can look at what the market is on Ebay for other Murano cats and see what you think is best for you. This particular cat with the "pillow" design is really quite nice. You can go to Marcolin glass (Not Murano) to see how their beautiful pieces are done with that style as well.

ANd yes there are large true Murano glass Eggs as I have a solid Murano Glass Egg I bought in a lovely shop in St. Marco Plaza that is about 7 inches high and is solid not hallow. What I love about it is it has two colors one side has green and the other side has brown in it and there is a section down the middle where no color was put in the color added almost loks like smoke the way it is transparently just in it from the side you see the 3 diffrent colors and then from one side or the other you see it looking like a solid colored egg if you look through the green side the egg looks very dark green if you look fromt he brown side it almost looks purple. Have had the egg for 15 years and love it more and more. I collect eggs and do have 2 Murano glass eggs one with the gold leaf filigree thing both I bought in Murano or Venice during trips there with military tours. now even though your egg is not Murano if you have not sold it I would be interested because of how pretty it is. I would like a photo with better light and dimensions to better give a price I would offer but it might be unnecessary since you may have already sold it. Oh and even though I have two Murano Glass eggs and the solid glass one that was bought at what is considered a high end store was still only about $120 when I got it 15 years ago. My most expensive egg is a hand painted real quail egg which was $200. What can I say I love eggs lol heck I even bought a dozen Ostrich eggs in Germany so my Mom would paint one for me and I think she still has the other 11 and hasn't done anything with them lol might have to start asking for more to be painted as presents lol |
