Anita, the person I wrote about in my private email informed me in a second call:
Livio Seguso designed more then 30 animals/birds for Gral Glashütte. During the contract period they were exclusivly executed by Gral Glas. They were top seller in Germany, therefor here are still a lot on the market.
They were signed -engraved- by an companies engraver. There is no difference between the initials and full name.
Livio also executed some animals in his own work shop. They are signed as Duquepharts bowl shows, additional the date und different written full name, exclusively rare.
Your zoo is amazing even for me as vase gatherer, wonderful idea.

Horst

Duquephart, congratulations!!! As written before an exclusive piece. You are right, same periode as my bowl.

Horst

According to the listing what you seem to be calling a date is "12/18" as in twelve of eighteen. Perhaps the seller is mistaken and the numbers refer to something else. What is the likelyhood that Livio numbered his pieces?

Never before I have seen a numbered glass object.
Only on installations with glass, wood, stone etc.
I had another look (with glasses) at the signature, essentially it`s 12/18, the 12th piece of 18. First time to me!

Well, I don't know for certain that's what it is - and it would be far from the first time an eBay seller had their head up their a$$ - but I can't think of what else it could be. I guess we'll just have to put it in the "something new every day" file.

Thanks again!
