More "Lovers" by G. Tosi

I purchased my "Lovers" in Murano, Italy in 2006. I paid $5500 for the sculpture.

It is by primo maestro, Giuliano Tosi .

The piece is “first quality” and signed by Tosi

It is 39” tall. The base circumference is 17”. The diameter is 5.4". The thickness of the glass around the base is .5".

I have been reading posts and am concerned that I paid too much. It was a great boat ride and then there was the champagne...:-)) I am hoping to sell the piece now and wondering how to price it and where is the best place to sell it. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I think most people would say that the price you pay on Murano is the top price you would pay anywhere. You could do a search on completed listing of eBay to show the base price you would get. The price you get at auction you could research by subscribing to one of the Auction search engines.

I started off buying glass thinking I was investing my money. Now I just buy what I like and will keep.

Hi. I created a new thread for this to keep the 2 conversations from getting confused.

I definitely think its best to buy what you like rather than buying for investment, it will only lead to heartbreak when you purchase something you don't even like, don't display it because your really not into it, and then it decreases in value. Definitely a lose/lose situation!

I agree, buy what you like instead of buying as investment. That has my motto for the last several years.
