Hi and welcome Andrew,
Is there anyway you can post us a picture? There is a Mario Badioli. Here is a link to a sculpture that I found with a signature. Is this a match? http://www.antiquehelper.com/item/339455 tam bam Last edited by tam bam; 01-21-2010 at 09:12 AM.. |

Hi Andrew and welcome I think your glass sculpture is great ,4-5 years ago a few of these turned up on ebay uk,to my regret I did not win item please tell us what you think about it. Badoli worked at F. PITAU for 10yrs who only made clowns in all shapes and forms I would like to think that he gained his thought to make these sculptures there. Cliff

Very nice Andrew. I found a fish that some thinks is by him over the weekend that someone was selling and it was a true piece of art. I will try to find it again and post it. I think this guy was a true artist in my opinion. Too bad he didn't get to meet Picasso from what I have read about him.
I think Picasso would have approved of his work. tam bam |

I bought the piece in Venice, from a shop dealing in Murano 3 years ago. I also saw one on a stall near the Rialto bridge, they both wanted about 600 euro, if I recall correctly, but I negotiated with the dealer in the shop, and got 2 clowns with the picasso for the 600 euro, it was very heavy being cuddled all the way home, there was no way that it was going anywhere except in my wifes' clutches. Does anyone recall how much they went for on ebay?

Hi again Andrew as I remember 4-5 years ago several appeared on ebay uk ,I was interested in one ,unfortunatley I was the underbidder as I recall they went for £350-400, about 5yrs ago you got 1.45 Euro to £ so the price on ebay would at that time been have not far off your 600Euro so your 600 in Venice seems a good deal bearing in mind that ebay is a secondary market, however prices were flying high on ebay then.I can imagine the scene of you both, struggling with your weighty purchase through Venice to your hotel thank the heavens you did not drop it, a very good piece, a statement piece thanks for sharing it with us. Cliff
