Pictured below are two Murano Dancers. They are the lovelist dancers i have ever seen. Unfortunately the pics were taken with a mobile phone so they aren't great. The dancers are a fresh baby pink colour, not mottled like one of the pics is showing. I will try and get some more taken but in the meantime, can anyone tell me anything about them such as maker/approx value?

Hi. Yes, they do look to be Murano. They are are often referred to as harlequins, and werepopular at one point. They were made by a wide range of companies and are still be created today. Barovier and Toso made some that are now valued in the thousands. Do your dancers have any identifying marks or labels?
I updated the tag below, so just follow the "harlequin" tag for other threads about them.

I don't think they have any labels. Not sure about marks etc. They are my Nanna's. If I remember correctly she bought them about 10 or so years ago and I seem to think they were quite expensive at the time. I shall get a better look (and some better pictures) this week.
I shall take a look at the 'harlequin' info. Thank you. |

Hi and welcome,
Your pieces are very exquisite. Not sure who made them but they are indeed very nice and expensive looking. What I can say for sure is that your pieces are in fact Murano. tam bam |

Hi Tam Tam,
My nanna has a few 'dancers' dotted about her house. Some I think may be the work of Toffolo?? But they are alot more 'basic' than the ones pictured here. I cannot stress enough that the photos are rubbish!!! They truly are amazing to look at, whoever made them spent a lot of time perfecting them. I haven't been able to get new pics as yet but as soon as i do i'll post them back here. I will check for any stickers/marks etc. too. |
