Default What is this piece worth?

Hi all,

I just picked up this very nice bowl/dish at a thrift shop and am wondering if it's worth anything. It has two stickers on it. The one on the bottom is black and silver and reads Lavorato A Mano Cristalvi Made in Italy and the other one which is red and gold reads Lavorazione Arte Murano Made in Italy. The size is approx 9" wide from tip to tip. Thanks for any help you can give.

Jenikki

It doesn't look like the attachments or URL are working so I'll put it here again.

Welcome!

Check out this thread:

There is a good discussion on the label you are inquiring about...

Lavorazione makes nice glass, but it does not command a good price right now. I bought a couple of Lavorazione pieces -- a vase and an arty bowl. I paid $8 for the first and $15 for the second. I have been offered $5 for each The same is true for another company, Crystal Clear of Murano, that makes pieces very similar to Lavorazione. Many of the pieces of both companies are beautiful to look at and may be valuable in the future, but the companies are not in the "quality circle," so the pieces do not command a premium.

Still I like many of them. They are gorgeous... and that is what really matters when it comes to things we have in our house. Anita

Thank you both for your help and you are right Anita, this piece is gorgeous to look at, even if it's not worth a thing, it will look very nice in my home

Default Lavorazione on eBay

I just ran into this auction on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/MURANO-HANDBLOWN...QQcmdZViewItem

One would think this bowl is very old. The sticker looks like Lavorazione to me, as does the glass on the bottom of the bowl. I think that Lavorazione came into being only 20-30 years ago. Does anyone know?

This auction strikes me as deceptive unless Grandmum bought this bowl only recently and kept it in her old English home. Reminds me of Johnny Fairplay
