Hi what a wonderful forum. I received this piece of glass a few years ago from the estate of the father of a friend. It took us a while to determine that it is, in fact, a rabbit. The ears hang down and actually lay on the body. It's going to be hard to see at 80KB. I will gladly send larger, clearer photos to anyone who would like to see it better. The couple who owned this little figure were world travellers and probably picked this up in Italy themselves some years ago in their travels. Everything else in their house was authentic. This piece is just so strange, because it's not clearly identifyable as a rabbit. It stands 4-1/2" tall and has no flaws in the glass. There is one tiny air bubble in the head. Does anyone have any idea that this could truly be Murano? I'd love any information, as well as a potential valuation. I want to make sure and take care of it if it authentic. It is labeled, but I know that can be faked easily. Isn't it pretty?

Hi. The label is almost guaranteed to be authentic, its the common scalloped red Murano label. Since it doesn't identify a particular company as the manufacturer, it would be categorized as generic. I don't think its worth much, however it is a nice piece and you should take good care if it. I still have my first piece of glass, its more sentimental than valuable.

Thanks so much Glassman. It's nice to know it's real. It's a sweet piece. I really like the clarity of the glass. My friends say that it looks like a rabbit with chicken lips. I think it's beautiful. Now I just have to make sure it remains in one piece.
