I started collecting Murano fish that I saw on eBay and at estate auctions. Most of them have the silver and/or gold aventurine. Does anyone know of any books that feature these fish? I'm interested in value but also just enjoy photos of them. Thank you.

Hi, Mauieast. Many of the fish are documented, but I don't think they are gathered in one book. Some pictures are in Leslie Pina's books, Archimede Seguso and Italian Glass Century 20. JI Company imported many fish and may have a furnace that made many of them. There is a West Virginia catelog that has some of their pieces in it. I don't own the catalog. Maybe someone who has one can say if it has some of their fish. Heiremann's Dino Martens has some of the fish made by Aureliano Toso, but the book is expensive to buy to see the small number of fish.
It would be nice if someone would do a book with the various fishes attributed. It would be a handy reference. Anita |
