Hello,
First time posting on here. I have a few pieces of murano and short of buying a book that may or may not have them in there I can't seem to find info on them(artist or year, price etc.). None of them have any artist markings so I assume just some random works. The blue one with spirals has a red sticker with gold letters, border. Oh and I apologize for the pictures as I had to use a laptop cam to take them(Nikon is having a lens error so I need to put it into the shop). The white bowl with what looks like a cat face I believe may not be murano, but I do like the way it looks |

Hi Dj Seyton none of your items are Murano in my opinion.I have seen all your glass before 1&2 would have the red/blue laverizone murano label.which are not made in murano.item3 is a generic take on a Scandanavian design probably from China Thanks for posting.Cliff.

Well that stinks. Luckily I don't have much invested in them, they were thrift store finds (Goodwill and Salvation Army). I do like the 3rd piece even though it's a knockoff.. the others I can just re-donate for someone else to enjoy.. I'll pull the stickers off them so others don't buy them with false hope. I've dealt with Chinese knockoffs dealing with coins just don't have the knowledge/eye for glass that I do with coins. Thanks for the help Cliff. Michael

Hey,
Not sure if my response didn't get posted or if it has to be reviewed by an admin first, but thank you very much Cliff. Fortunately I don't have much invested in them since they were thrift store finds. I'll pull the stickers off and re donate the ones I'm not too fond of so that no one else gets duped by the fakes. I do plan on keeping 2 of them because I do like them(fake or not). I don't have the eye/knowledge of glass the way I have the eye/knowledge of coins that I usually deal with. Imitation may be the highest form of flattery but can cost people a large sum of money when misrepresented. Thanks once again. I'll be sure and learn more about murano. Being a fan of abstract art, murano is right up my alley. |

Please don't pull the stickers off of them! They provide good information.
