Default Is this a Cenedese Elephant?

I was wondering whether anyone had any thoughts on my beautiful elephant. I have seen one very similar attributed to Cenedese.
8 1/2" high with applied blue eyes. Amber glass with a dark (almost black pulegoso with copper globules and pasta vitrea tusks.

It does have a small crack in one of the ears. I am wondering as to value as I may have to sell some of my pieces.

Many Thanks

I can't help you telling you if it is murano or not but as for value, I think most collectors, won't purchase a damaged piece unless it is very rare.

I have only seen one other like it, so it may be rare and although damaged it is not noticeable unless inspected closely.
Thanks for your input though

lychap, it isn't Cenedese. It is a design that was made for Jordan Import Co (JICo) in the early 1970s. These elephants were made in different colors. Your decor is one of the more unusual.

BTW, I would love to include your elephant in the Murano Zoo. If you are interested, just send me your full name and I'll credit the picture. My email is acaudle52 at gmail.com.

Thank you for the info...any idea which glass factory made them? I'm assuming Jico where just importers and not manufacturers.

Would it have any value or does the damage negate it?

JICo is an import company. They had their own glass, Blanco Glass, that was made in Murano. So, many of the pieces they sold were their own glass. JICo also imported from other companies. The records are not good, though, so it's hard to tell which pieces were theirs and which were others. People generally just call any pieces they imported JICo unless it can be shown that a design is made by another company.

The JICo pieces do not have much value because there were many made. With the crack in the ear, I would retire the elephant to being a personal piece. Most people would be unwilling to buy. However, you can try.

Thank you so much for letting me put your elephant in the zoo. Cracked ear elephants are always welcome in the zoo.

Your elephant is in the zoo now at http://sites.google.com/site/muranozoo/mammals-9. I like the way you had the inserts. It gives people different views with a single shot. Thank you for letting me include it.
