Default Is this real Murano?

I purchased this at an antique sale in the UK. It looks like many other Murano pheasants I have found online but it has no sticker so I am not sure. It also appears to have gold leaf or something like that in the base and on the head of the pheasant. It is 17" tall and 7" wide. Any help on if it is real/value would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi GWads1, your pheasant is made in Murano. It is a typical production of several companies, congratulation. For more informations have a look to TxSilverīs Murano Zoo: https://sites.google.com/site/murano...rds-reptiles-2

Thank you for the good news. I have only started collecting in the last couple months. I have several more pieces I need to post on here for more input. Lots of the vintage pieces don't have labels or signatures so its hard to be sure.

Donīt hesitate and show us your pieces, I will try to do my best and others also will. Following pics are needed: total, rim and base also details if they give additional informations. Have a nice weekend.

For base do you mean just the base, or the actual bottom of the piece? New to this and just want to make sure I post as much as possible to help. Thanks!

I am not sure if this pheasant is Murano or if it was made elsewhere in the style of Murano. The details are not as careful as a typical Murano piece and the red is so bright. We'll have to look around to see if we can find another like it somewhere.

I've been searching online everywhere and have not been able to find one just like it. None are that color red either so that had me worried. which details dont look careful? I would like to know so I can look closer in the future. Thank you.

GWads, the tail on your bird is well done. The three things that jumped out at me that made me think it wasn't Murano glass are the legs, head, and base. The Murano pheasants I've seen have two distinct legs folded under them. Yours has a flap that doesn't look like legs in the picture. The head of your pheasant was done quickly, so the shape of the bill, crest, and eyes are not very good. The base, while having gold, looks a bit rough. The wings are nice and well done. My first thought was maybe your pheasant is Chinese, but I didn't know for sure.

My message here sounds like I'm insulting your bird. It is really pretty. It just doesn't have the characteristics that we normally see in Murano pheasants.

No insult taken! I was curious when I purchased it, I didn't pay a whole lot. After doing more research I can see what you mean. Especially about the eye, its just like a quick glob of glass. Thank you for your input though, it helps me a lot for the future!
