Many of us have done it. The last thing I bought cost $200+ and $84 shipping. I was eager to find a Buzzi rooster, so did something I knew I shouldn't. The seller sent it so that extra postage had to be collected by UPS. Then the bird was a poor knockoff. Because of the cost of shipping, I had to decide whether to keep or return it. So I kept it. It is now setting by my computer saying never, never buy from Venice on eBay. It is a great reminder to me.

Your vase cost much more, so I know you won't be keeping it as a reminder. I'm sorry you went through this and hope you're able to recoup all your money (except return postage). it was tricky the way that my seller sent my rooster to me with money due. I wish I had refused delivery after I opened the box.
