I bought this piece for $8 at a flea market this morning. It is a cobalt blue color and is about 4.5" tall and 6.5" long. I did a bit of searching on-line and could not find anything like it. Is is real? Did I overpay? About how old is it?

Hi, Larry. Silvestri is a marketing company that handles glass from different areas, including Italy. I've not seen anything they market that comes from Murano, but they do handle things from other areas of Italy. Your fish is an example. The things from Silvestri are not collectible just yet, because they are contemporary and usually common. However, they are fine for house decoration. The price you paid sounds very reasonable to me.

Thank you Anita. I figure that the piece looked a bit too modern to be very collectible. The quality of it is very high, so I didn't think that it was Chinese. I was hoping that it was from Murano though. I will have to keep looking.

The price is reasonable for a beer at the ballpark - pretty hard to complain.
