Good Morning,
I recently bought this awkward little Murano mezza filgrana vase and am wondering if anyone has any information about it. It stands about 6 in./ 15cms tall, the foot and handles are done in what I believe to be satin glass with gold leaf. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It has plenty of ware on the foot but hard for me to capture in a photo. Thanks for taking a look, rob |

It's a very well made piece of Murano, at least to me. A very interesting piece. I share your feelings about it being a little awkward, but I would have a hard time resisting it.

Thanks for replying David.
The more I look at it the more appreciate it. What are you thoughts on age? The person I bought it from thinks it's from the 40's, which I would agree with based on colours and shape. |

I think 1940's is a good estimate, and certainly not later than early 50's.

Do you think it may have been cut down or does the rim look original?

I don't believe the rim has been cut down.
If it were, I would think that there would some scratches on the handles which are very tight to the mouth of the vase. |

Here's another photo of the rim and handles.
