Default My two cents

Nice find. Like you, I have found some nice pieces at charity thrift stores.

Is the base polished? If it is unpolished, the bottom will be glazed (frost looking). One of the best indications of non-Murano pieces. There can be wear but there is a big difference from polished with wear to unpolished.

Is your piece heavy? I find Chinese fakes to be made of poor quality material. The more pieces you handle, the better you will get at telling fakes.

The colors of the piece should be in Murano style.

I have seen similar pieces to yours, three lobe, internal swirl bowl/dish.

Update: haha, I have one similar to yours. I will upload a picture to my album.

Regards,
Jason

lol...hard to tell. bottom is pretty worn. Could be frosted could be worn polish. I can post a pic. Is on the heavy side, but never really handled anything like this, so have nothing to compare it too. weighs 2 lbs.

Smile Nice Barbini bowl

Hi, it is an Alfredo Barbini bowl, commonly called circus tent. It is a good bowl particularly if there is no damage. You will see them on eBay quite often. Cheers Pam

Sorry if being a picker and not a collector bothers anyone, but this is a great blog site. Thanks for the info. Always learning.

No worries, this site is for both seller and buyer. You at least care enough to do some research. Good luck on your sale.
