Default Barbini Duck?

This auction ended tonight? This looks like a Barbini duck to me.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...4714&rd=1&rd=1

There is an inscription that it was made by "Solviati for Blue Swan" on the base apparently. I still think it is a Barbini. Did Salviati do something similar?

Default Barbini Bird

Your right, Its definitely a Barbini. Its in the book "Animals in glass, A Murano bestiary", as being attributed to Alfredo Barbini while he was with VAMSA in 1938. (plate #68) Its sommerso with a smoked effect. Not a bad purchase for $250, its undoubtably worth more.

Not a bad price at all. I have a feeling that the inscription was added by someone. Maybe it can be polished out if it isn't too deep. I don't like to tamper with old glass, but in this case I could make an exception. I don't think that there are many of these available.

Heres another, similar style, but a lamp--- going for $5,000!

Gorgeous! Svazzo can get the nicest things. He is a very good person to buy from. The prices are the true values, but his attributions and descriptions are accurate (when anyone knows for sure).

I just checked my wallet. I was $4999 short of the purchase price.

Yes! His site always has a nice amount of Vintage Murano. Whoever purchased the Barbini duck made a nice find. Its funny that someone etched Seguso on the base...I guess they never realized it was a Barbini?
