Hi Cliff,
thanks for visiting my album. I also enjoyed to view your collection. Our collecting plans are a little bit different. Sure you noticed that 99% of my Murano glass are vases. Before I had only bowls but they need too much space. Itīs a terrific engagement for a retired person as me.
You mentioned the vase of Vittorio Ferro and Max Pagnin. They collaborated long time untill the accidental death of Max Pagnin. They also designed murrine as they did before during their activities for Fratelli Toso. What a wonderful result.
I have a problem, I lost your visitor message and donīt know were itīs gone. Can you help me please?
Horst
Thank you artifice. That is nice of you to say. I just read a conversation between two member about a question I posted. I didn't think they were very nice about it so I wrote this long sarcastic email. I was in the process of reviewing and sending but because I had timed out, I lost the darn thing. A nice complement helps to let it roll off your back and not take it personally. I thank you for that too. I've only been collecting since the end of May '09 and my inexperience shows. But this is the most fun I've had since I started a working career so Im not letting them get me down. Thanks again!!
Hi again Cliff, yes I started of with a theme of birds, swans and ducks. Then came the fish and dogs. Gradually added the bowls, swore that I was not going to collect them, but as I have begun to appreciate the different syles, well had to add them. I have become much more selective which means paying quite a lot more. I also look at my glass as being an investment for the future and was going to sell it after I retire if I found it a bit tight financially and none of my children like it. But I'm considering selling some next year as I would like to visit good friends in Scotland - will wait and see if prices improve. I too have noticed some good pieces sold on eBay and then relisted at a much higher price. But it is also a good time to buy as prices are lower than they were 12 months ago.
Have checked out your album, very nice Cliff, I am envious!!!!! By the way good name same as my second son. I have now finished my album, that is until I buy some new pieces.
Have posted an item today and perhaps you might have some ideas about it. I think its a Barbini rooster, one of the best I have seen but just can't be sure. Have also started an album and will be adding to it over the next few weeks -as time allows.
Hi Artifice, love your collection - think I will have to put my own album together when I get a bit of spare time. You have an advantage in collecting but it is a bit more difficult for us in Australia, not quite the amount of good Murano glass here. I tend to buy mostly for UK or USA.
Hi Cliff...........I really like your glass!! This is the type of glass I love! Maybe after the Nov. deer hunt, I'll try doing an album to show you how similar our glass is!............Jerry
