Hi annie04bells thanks for kind comments ,you have some nice birds that would seem to be the theme running through your photos are you a thematic collecter or eclectic in your collecting like me.I shall share my strategy with you for the next two years i am going to buy 2-3 items a week with positive attribution as thats what will hold value and possibly increase, and thats what people want when buying,as it will be my intention to sell at some point l will of course keep a core collection over the last ten years l have collected many vases & table centres with a view to sell at later date internal decorating will always need glass as a feature.Have you like me noticed that on ebay any reasonable attributal pieces are being bought up by a few to return to ebay at full market value on 30day revolving sale. hence reducing our chances of the now elusive bargain. I cant buy from U.S.A OR AUS because postage kills it.Its nice to share our glass l get great pleasure in seeing other members items ,i also get secondary thrill when a member shows great joy in a piece they have bought, l also sometime have a twinge of regret at some of the pieces l sold but thats life .Very nice to communicate with you l am sure you will have new finds to share with us .Cliff
My name is Tami. I love your album. You have some great pieces. I think I can help with some of your pieces. The Swan is Barbini for Camer Glass. I have seen these cute swans with labels. The red fish with the big lips in the 18th pic looks like a Fratelli Toso fish to me, very classic. The nice yellow overshot bowl, which I just love, is made by Fratelli Toso.
The irridesent and gold leaf dish is the most interesting to me though. It is wonderful! I am not quite sure who made it but perhaps Seguso. He made many leaf bowls in different shaps and sizes. Archimede's other glass masters also made some of his leaf bowls when they worked for him as well, so perhaps it may not have been made by Archimede himself but by another glass master in the same furnace. I have one in my album made and signed by Mario Gambaro but it was made for Archimede Seguso.
Also, you may want to try to contact Anita about you Seguso pheasant. She has a Murano Zoo and since yours is signed she may want to put a photo in her zoo, with your permission of course.
Hi Many thanks for your kind comments about my glass collection ,that is about quarter to third of it ,l have sold many pieces to Australia ,postage is the killer now as alot of Murano weighs heavy,l sell very little now as replacing it is getting harder even here ,if you count UK, AUS, USA GER,& ITY there is a strong secondary market in Murano, I will add to album as & when l find time, collecting glass is a great hobby keep the faith Cliff
