I recently acquired this fish statue at an antique auction/sale. I've managed to find a few different fish similar to this one in my net searches, but I have not found ANY that are multi-colored like this one, with amber glass fins and mouth, and pedestal. Also, the ribbing in the dorsal fin is much finer than the course ribbing done on the other fins Ive seen. The other fish like this have all been just clear colored glass. This is the only single fish I've seen with this colored marbling (whats this called?).
Anyway, it still has its original foil label on it which says Venetian Glass made in Italy etc. I didnt manage to find anything scribed into the glass on the bottom.
Does anyone know who may have made this multi-colored fish, and whats its value might be, seeing how it is not a standard solid color fish? Also, does anyone know the difference in the detailing of the fins? Its very intricately done, compared to the rough looking other fish I've seen.
See the attached picture.
thanks, Greg
