My husbands grandmother gave us a beautiful piece of what I believe to be Murano Glass. It has a sticker reading "Murano Glass, Made in Italy, 24kt Gold paint." It is a cobalt blue glass bowl with lid. It has gold filigree design on sides of bowl as well as the lid. Raised flowers may be porcelain? The piece is in excellent condition with the exception of one small chip on the interior rim of the bowl. Event though I am not interested in selling it, I would like to know the date of the piece, the value, and any extra info. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum!
Can you post a picture of the label? It can be helpful in determining who made the item.

Hi.
I don't think it can be attributed to a particular manufacturer, as the label is relatively generic. As far as I can tell from the picture, pieces similar to this are usually sold as a part of a larger tea set, which makes me think this may be a sugar bowl. Sets similar to these have been made since the 50's, so it is difficult to determine a specific age with accuracy. As far as value, tableware usually is less valuable than art glass, but since it is not part of a set, it wouldnt appraise for much. I hope this has been helpful, and should not detract from enjoying your bowl.

I can appreciate that it is not specific or rare. The value to us is in that it was my husbands grandmothers. I do not believe it to be a sugar bowl though. I guess I should have listed the dimensions before. The peice is 7 1/2 in diameter and 6 3/4 in tall. It was given to her as a gift, (and she kept everything) so I would assume its a single peice. Its fine with me if it has no monetary value. I was just looking more for info. Thank you for your time.
