Welcome to the Murano and Venetian Glass Forums!
If you are reading this post, you probably have a great piece of glass, but are wondering.....
"Who made it, and how much is it worth?"
Many of the collectors who visit this board are happy to help, but a few things are needed:
1) A specific and accurate description.
2) A photo is always necessary, and are easy to upload. (the forum will only upload images smaller than 80KB- more information regarding attachments are in the FAQ's)
3) Any background info on the item (Manufacturer, When and where purchased etc., if known)
4) General condition of the item and any other information you think is pertinent.
5) Items that are currently under auction will not be commented on until bidding is closed.
6) Don't be discouraged if your posting does not receive an immediate reply, members are busy living their lives and despite their breadth of knowledge, may not be familiar with your particular piece.
7) When posting, remember that opinions on the value of a particular piece are based on the posters past experience, can vary, and may or may not agree with your expectations. If you require an official valuation for insurance or other purposes, you should considering purchasing the services of an appraiser.
8) Finally, enjoy yourself and visit often. Collecting Murano glass can be addictive!
Good Luck!
