HI i have stumbled across your site and am so glad i did, i have been interested in glass now for some time and love the site.
I have a couple of pieces i would love to find out more about so i will continue scratching around and figure out how to post some pics. Hope someone here will have better luck than i have in identifying my pieces.
Ok the pics are loaded they are of a sculpture i guess you would call it. It is birds on a branch.
The branch is wood i dont know what sort of wood it is. All the birds are glass and fit onto the branch that has pins inserted. I have taken a photo of one of the birds to show how they attach.
There are 11 birds in total, and each one has a number etched in the bottom to correspond to the pin on the branch.
I can not find any other signitures or marks etc, they look like some other birds i have seen which are murano, but those ones are a lot smaller and are on a glass branch.
I bought this at an estate and couldnt find out much about it.
It is quite large as you can see by the bird i took of the branch.
Can anyone help me. Gee i hope so its driving me crazy hahha.
Thanks Picklebrain :D

Hey picklebrain, good to see an Aussie on the foums ;-)
Birds are a classic Murano subjuect, and you are correct in observing that most of the bird sculptures are mounted on a glass branch, or alternatively a glass nest or birdbath. I do not recall ever seeing ones mounted on a wood branch. Alsto stylistically, these arent classic Murano birds in color. I would bet that these are Murano inspired but not from Murano.

Thanks for that fossilfly, that is interesting what you say. I also have not seen any birds on real branches but i did not know about the colors of the birds being different. Would be interesting to know exactly where it is from never the less.

I'm interested to hear if anyone posts any answers about this bird/wood piece. I just LOVE those birds, they are absolutely beautiful!

Murano or not, I would have bought that in a heartbeat if I saw it here locally.

I wonder if your birds on the branch is some kind of studio art piece. I think they are very interesting also. I do LOVE the colors. Thanks for sharing and welcome to this site.

Hi, love the birds and it is unusual to see birds on a piece of wood. I am in the Coffs Harbour area and have been collecting for a number of years.
