For anyone that is interested, check out http://www.abatezanetti.it the official site of the famed Abate Zanetti Glass School in Murano, which is an offshoot of the original design school for Murano artists created in the 1860's.
They offer courses for all skill levels, as short as a weekend to longer advanced multi-week sessions, taught by a who's-who of Murano. The website also has a listing of art shows, exhibitions and competitions as well.
