Hi Everyone,
Since my last post was off-topic, having nothing to do with Murano, I thought I'd make it up to you by posting some pics of a couple Murano pieces and one that's made by the world-famous Unknown ;)

Please have a look. I'd love to learn more about any/all of them.

This is a wacky shaped cased bulliante bowl with lots of adventurine. I've never seen another quite like it.

This tiny bottle vase is very delicate.

This bowl cased bowl looks like snake skin to me. Feather pulled? Dunno. The color on the first image is the closest to true.

Bidda, took a quick look at your items. Ballarin is a comtemporary manufacturer, I have a catalog of theirs and actually met one of the brothers on a buying trip. I believe their names are Franco and Mauro (?). The funny thing, I didn't have enough time to make it back to the vaporetto, and didnt wind up meeting them for any length of time or buying. I have a label of theirs in my budding gallery of Murano labels here:

Can I add your label to the gallery as well? It seems to be an older label than the one I have posted.

THe "snakeskin" vase is amazing, incrediblely well made and a great design. Do you hav any more info on it?

Fossilfly,
I thought as much about the Ballarin piece. It's so delicate I marvel at how they were able to carve the design in such thin glass without piercing it. Very pleasing shape as well. Of course you may add the label to the gallery. I'm happy to be able to contribute :D

I have no information on the snakeskin bowl. It's so fabulous and unique. I hope I can learn more about it. When the sun hits it, the orange pops; almost glows. There's a "Welz's" bowl on Ebay right now that has a similar technique (though the shape is vastly different and appears to be thicker and older). It's also reminiscent of the honeycomb pattern in some Murano glass. If I find any more info, I'll be sure to pass it on and, if you come across anything that might point me in the right direction, please, don't hesitate :)
