I was given this piece by a relative who was moving. She thought it was Murano but wasn't sure. I was wondering if somebody could verify that the piece is or isn't Murano. There are no marking on the bottom and the entire bottom is black in color. The picture is attached and thanks in advance for any help.

Hi! It is most probably Murano, the coloration, design, use of foil and murrine would suggest Murano. You might have some difficulty in pinnpointing who may have made it though...Murano glass can be difficult to attribute many times without a label or a very recognizeable design.

AVEM and Fratelli Toso are both known for their silver foil work, although others may have also used foil. I would guess AVEM. The Toso bowls I've seen all have a certain type of base. Maybe a picture or description of the base would help.

Thanks for the information. I hope this picture of the bottom helps identify the piece. The middle of the bottom is flat and there is a "dimple" from manufacture

It doesn't look like the other F. Toso black pieces that I've seen. I would guess AVeM, but it is only a guess without verifying. Anyone else have some ideas on this piece?
