Just out of curiosity, who is Sandon? Are you referring to Mario Sandon by chance? If so he was Alessandro and Roberto Moretti's (The Moretti's are now deceased) brother-in-law and they all worked at the Pilgrim glass factory in West Virginia.
I personally do not collect glass clowns but would have a Barbini one any day. His are so whimsical.

P.S. - Here is a Sandon clown I found on Ebay.

Also here is a great site that identifies the different clowns by maker and gives background info on the artist/furnace.

You got it right...Mario Sandon didn't make a lot of clowns and not everybody likes them...I managed to own 15 of them and always looking to add.

Wow, really that is great Mgur1! I am a glass nut for someone who is related to Mario Sandon. This person is still in Murano. His name is Franco Moretti. I have an album on here with a lot of his pieces in it. Could you possibly creat an album or show us some photos of your Mario Sandon clowns or heck, with some of your best clowns. I am interested now.

P.S. From what few pics I have seen regarding the Mario Sandon clowns, I personally like them. I think they are very well made and I love the facial expression he puts on them.

Here is a great website about Pilgrim glass. The Moretti brothers were hired in the 50's by Pilgrim Glass to do Venetian type glass for the company. I look forward to seeing your clowns.:)
