I have a Murano bud vase and have attached some photos. It belonged to my grandmother and was in her possession for many years. It stands approx 9 11/16" tall and is white blown glass with a clear-glass stem and base. It has gold around the upper rim, on the center, and a gold ring around the base. There are flowers on each side that look like blown glass and appear to be hand-painted. The sticker on it reads MURANO GLASS MADE IN ITALY and looks like the sticker was originally blue-colored but has worn to a silver color now. It is in very fine condition with no cracks or chips. The gold and paint are complete. Could SOMEONE please give me some idea as to the age, the name of the pattern, and an idea of value. THANK YOU!

Hi. Thats a unique label, one that I have not yet seen. Gold gilding is not a technique that if frequently found by many Murano mfrs. Do you have any more info on the vase?

The vase is pre-World War II, I believe. I did some research and found out that from around 1900-1920 or 1930, Murano styles were very traditional, like this vase. Around 1930 or so is when the free-form styles started being made. Therefore, I SUSPECT this one was made somewhere between 1900-1930.... problem is, I haven't been able to find any info on early 20th-century Murano!

I am not familiar with this vase or gilded white glass. Salviati did quite a few gilded pieces during the 1950's and 1960's. I don't know about before that time. Salviati produced gilded work with enamel flowers on blue, red, and amber glass. I don't know about white, but it is a possibility. The more I learn about Murano, the more I realize that I know only a few of the things that have been made there. If you are looking for the maker, Salviati may be a good starting point.
