Just joined the site. I have always loved the beauty of glass. I have collected art glass from local artists while on vacation for years and now collect antique marbles. Can you imagine what it took to hand make marbles sometimes one at a time? My girlfriend blew glass for years at Palomar College in California and had a chance to work with Dale Chihuly for a period.

I found this site while researching a wonderful vase I purchased in Phoenix at a garage sale. I hope it is Murano but will cherish it either way. I will post it for your much-appreciated opinions.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad you have found this wonderful place and happy to have you here. Wow, really your girlfriend worked with Dale Chihuly!:eek: I bet that was an awesome experience for her. I have only seen one of his works of art in person. It was a huge chandelier (it took up the whole ceiling in a large room). It was one of the most beautiful chandeliers I have ever encountered. Full of bright vivid colors. I stood there in aw. The chandelier was given to the Mayo Clinic in Florida from a prominent grocery franchise family in Georgia and Florida.

Welcome! That is a cool fact that your GF worked with Dale Chihuly. I have been to a few of his exhibits, they are exemplary and explains why he kicked off a glass revolution. At one point I had an Album with photos from a Chihuly exhibit in NYC , I will have to find them and repost them all. Enjoy the forums!
