I found this article in a local paper.
In short, it declares that Murano Glass will become even more popular in 2005 on Ebay. I 'm having trouble getting excited about some of the other items though (Joe Montana? My litle Pony?!?!)
Otherwise, a good article.

Collectors embrace inner child
BY ANDY RATHBUN SPECIAL TO NEWSDAY

For collectors, the cool new thing is always something
old. And for some, old is sometimes relative.
"The hot decades right now are the ’60s and ’70s,"
says Harry Rinker, host of HGTV’s Collector Inspector.
"The things relating to a generation get to be of the
most value on the secondary market."

By now, you’ve probably figured out that the
collectors Rinker believes are propelling the market
today are between the ages of 35 and 45. Aside from
being more interested in kitsch than cameos, they tend
to hop online to do their collecting, rather than pick
through flea markets and antiques shops like past
generations.

They also are more "mediaoriented" in their search
for nostalgia. "They want the thing they had [as
kids]," says Rinker, who works for eBay’s collectible
division. "And they want the things their parents
didn’t buy them in the first place."

Based on general buying trends, along with the
amount of activity certain items are generating on
eBay, Rinker offers his top 10 predictions for the hot
collectibles of 2005:

1. Star Wars memorabilia
2. KISS
memorabilia
3. My Little Pony items
4. Murano glass (a type of Italian glass)
5. Rust-colored pottery
6.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles items
7. Joe Montana memorabilia
8. Pac-Man items
9. Larry Bird memorabilia
10. Dukes of Hazzard items

I'm not surprised that Murano glass is listed as #4 -- each piece is a beautiful, hand-crafted work of art! However, I'm a little worried that Dukes of Hazzard items made the list at all.
