Hello! I'm new to this forum, so greetings to all! On behalf of a friend I'm trying to identify a lovely centrepiece of cased glass. It looks like white glass cased in turquoise and has a metal (stainless steel?) base attached with a kind of bolt.

It dates from the 1950s to 1970s. The longest axis is 15inches, the tallest height is 13 1/2 inches and the width is 6 1/5inches.

I have seen organic designs like this attributed to Murano, but have never come across anything with a metal foot before. There are no maker's marks that I can see.

I'd be most grateful for your help!
Thanks, Bron:rolleyes:

Welcome to the forums! It could be Murano, but also don't forget Chalet glass, had many wild and wonderful shapes also. Does it have any labels or markings?
Search the forum for "Chalet", you will find a link to a page that has a whole group of photos..

Hi Drabkin! And thanks for your swift reply! There are no maker's marks as far as I can see, or labels. I checked out the Chalet glass connections. The shape is certainly similar, but the milky inner layer doesn't quite match with anything I can see by Chalet. And that metal base....? Bron

Metal base....? Didnt see that at first. Need coffee!!! :) That is quite unusual. Agree with the lattimo (milky white glass) center. Without a label or signature it may be difficult to determine mfr. Anyone else have any ideas?
