I was at an estate auction today & purchased a box of figurines. This bowl was also in the box. My neighbor says he thinks it is Murano. There are no labels or anything on it. It has a swirl pattern of bubbles in it and also a swirl pattern of gold flecks in it. It's really very pretty. I have some other pics that show the pattern better these were just the first 2 I loaded!! I was just curious if it might be or not. Only paid 10.00 for the whole box. Thanks for anyones ideas.

Yes, it is a Murano. I have sold a few similar to this. The ashtrays I sold had gold foil inside and silver foil facing out, along with controlled air bubbles. The glass, foil, and bubbles were worked to give a quilted like appearance. I talked to several Murano collectors. There were several guesses who made the ashtrays -- Barbini, Seguso, F. Toso, Barovier, Venini -- but no answer was satisfactory.
Anyway... your ashtray look similar to my Murano. So, yes, I would say that it is Murano and very lovely.

Thank you for the information. I really appreciate it. I was just surprised to find it at the bottom of a box of old glass figurines & plates. The more I look at it the more I really love it!!
