What did I just buy?!

Hi,

I usually collect Murano glass and I am usually active in the other forum but yesterday I decided to purchase for my kitchen a piece of Italian pottery to go in a blank space over my cabinets. I purchased this piece because one I loved the artistic lines of the piece and two because I have a flower/Italian theme in my kitchen. All and all I just fell head over heals for the piece even though there is a chip inside the top but it is going in a high place so you will not be able to tell.

So tell me please, is what the seller saying true? Plus I googled some of this info and I was not able to find much. Please help.:confused: I absolutely know nothing about pottery other than it is pretty.

Thanks so very much Charlie! It makes perfect sense now. The chip is because someone was trying to get the cork out. Ah ha! Some how the story just didn't seem right but It wasn't about the story with this piece for me it was about look of it I was going for. It goes perfect with the look of my kitchen. It has all my colors and the flowers go with my pictures so I could care less about the story but I was curious as to whether how true it was. ;)

All I know is I better stick to Murano glass than pottery. LOL!

FYI - The wine bottle (not Poggi vase) is still going in my kitchen with pride!
