I purchased this piece back the 1980's in Wiesbaden, Germany and recently decided to try to find some info on it....how much it's worth, artist name, what this piece is called and what it would be used for, etc. Anything I could learn would be appreciated. Does anyone know anything about this piece?

Welcome to the forums! While it is Murano, I don't think is from any of the better known manufacturers, as handpainting and gilding aren't often done.
Im not certain about the label, but I don't believe it is attributable to a specific manufacturer.

I appreciate your input but do you happen to have a name for this type of piece. Do you think it would be considered an urn? I purchased this piece from the PX when I was stationed in the Army in Germany. It still has the original price sticker of $75.00 on it.

The label makes me wonder if the glass was made in Murano and the painting was done elsewhere in Italy. It is indeed a beautiful piece. If it was purchased at the PX, then it is most likely a highly desirable collectible. I think you've made a good purchase. I have seen vessels like this. I do not know if they have an official name, but covered urn or jar seems okay, though maybe a bit understated. It is a beautiful piece of glass.
