Hi all...brand new to this site. I honestly know nothing about glassware, but I would like to know if anyone here can help me identify anything about a glass bowl (?) my mother-inlaw gave me. Thanks so much for any help!
I hope I've attached the pic correctly.

not that I can see...I know the pic doesn't do it justice.

Do you have any idea how old it is? The glass and shape make me think Lavorazione, but it would just be a guess. Do you know that it is Murano?

Hi...thanks for your response. I have no idea how old it is or what kind of glass it is. I just happened to be poking around ebay yesterday and saw examples of Murano which made me start wondering. I'm not even sure if my mother-inlaw knows where she got it...it is not normally something I would choose but the colors go well in our living room and it actually looks quite cool. I guess I should do some research on Lavorazione now? Thanks!

A couple more possibilities (among many :) are Chalet -- Canada, I believe -- and Crystal Clear of Murano. Lavorazione and Crystal Clear have done many bowls that have the clear glass on the outer borders. Lavorazione and Chalet have done a lot of pieces with sharp points. These companies are not alone in doing these works of glass art, but they have done several similar, so may be a good starting point. Good luck in finding the maker quickly. It can be exasperating. Maybe someone here will know exactly who did the piece.

Alex at artofvenice.com was kind enough to let me email him a pic of the bowl and this was his response:
Hi,
it is at 90% made here in Murano,
but it is a pretty common production, very used during '50s, '60s and 70s.
Nice, not a piece of art, just a good craft, . Conserve it!
Sincerely
Alex
And, thank you TXSilver for helping me. I am in Canada so perhaps Chalet is the maker....hopefully, I'll find out soon :)

Mstiams, Hi and welcome! Alex also contributes his knowledge to another MG board as well, and is very knowledgeable. It is indeed a nice piece!
