Hey there,

I just bought this piece recently and would like to get some feedback about it from someone who knows a little bit about Murano glass. This piece stands 11.75 inches tall and is solid. It weighs between three and four lbs. The piece contains three layers of glass. The outside layer is completely clear. the second layer is a bit cloudy. Within the cloudy second layer is an inner layer that runs through the center. The inner layer is clear with golden glitter mixed within it. It is in flawless condition with no chips or breaks or scratches. The piece has a sticker on it that layes just below the praying hands which reads, "MADE IN ITALY, MURANO, VENEZIA." I am guessing that it was made made around the 1960's, but would love to hear your analysis regarding the entire piece.

Thanks sincerely,
Laitham

Does it have a signature or identification mark besides the sticker?

I don't see any type of impression or any type of identifying mark anywhere on it....what do you think about it?

From what I have read on here in other posts it sound like a lack of an impression or identification mark is the norm, and that a sticker is usually one of the only signs.

Any thoughts? Have you hear of this piece before?

Laitham,

You are correct, most don't have a signature, but signatures or concrete attributions, either by design or signature, can increase value substantially.

It looks to be a popular icon, Madonna. (Not the singer :) ) , but I dont think it will be attributable to a particular mfr. They aren't rare, but are still very nice pieces, especially with the C'd'Oro core (gold dust).

Thanks for your insight glassman...

Would you happen to have any idea what this piece might be worth, what year it might have been created, what artist might have made it?

Thanks sincerely,
Laitham

Laitham,

Its impossible to tell which glass house or artist made it, without a signature or defining style. As far as value, I would think in the $50-$60 range.
