View Full Version : Tag Cloud!

I just added a new feature to the home page, the tag cloud, which lists the top 150 tags. It's a very useful tool for quickly searching the forums for a particular manufacturer, technique or style. Its strength lies in the fact that members categorize the forum threads, something the software does not have the ability to do.

The more popular the tag, the larger the tag font size is in the tag cloud. For example, the tag "murano label" is appended to the most threads (over 4 pages worth!) making it the most popular, and the largest.

I have added tags to many of the threads, and I believe other members have started to also. If you are starting a new thread or responding to an existing thread, your input is appreciated!

Adding a tag is easy, just scroll down to the bottom of the page, press the "edit tags" link on the right and add a few keywords that you think best describe the thread. You can add a maximum of 5 tags.

Eg. For a fazzoletto venini vase with a label, a few tags may be venini, murano label, fazzoletto, vase.

This will assist all members, and better categorize the forums for searchers.

Thanks for your help, and all feedback is welcomed!

:)

It has been some time since I visited, but the tag cloud is evocative, its much easier than using the search feature.

PS the new label library is well done. As a suggestion, can it be categorized by artist or company? This way different versions of labels from the same company throughout the years would be side by side. You have been busy!

Thanks. I would like to categorize by manufacturer or artist, as some labels by the same company are scattered throughout the pages. Im not certain if the software is capable of this however.
