Hi there

New to the forum and I can see there is a wealth of knowledge out there could someone help me uncover a bit more information about this glass sculpture.

It doesn't really matter if it isn't genuine and not worth a great deal because I love and was happy with the price I paid. I didn't really know anything about Murano glass when I bought it I just wanted to own and display it.

If the signatures are genuine can anyone decipher them for me I have tried searching the internet but have drawn a blank.

It measures 6 1/2 inches by 6 inches (16cm x 15cm approx) with no damage.

All the best and many thanks in advance

Hi there - thank you I am really pleased you like it.

I didn't know what to call it really it does have an opening it is of very little depth about 3" but I suppose lack of functionality doesn't mean that it isn't a vase.

I will do my best with the signature I would say it starts with the initial L. could then be followed by an eleborate J or O UW or perhaps U S yes I know this is pathetic I might try and take a better picture we have snow here at the moment and the light might help. The final word looks like Mureu. It might help if I knew some of the names that it might look like but I am afraid I don't - think maybe I need to invest in a good book!

Thank you so much for replying

Did a bit more research and it is the signature of Livio Seguso - can't date or value you it just yet though.

That is indeed a nice find! I don't know much about him other than that he is a very well respected artist.
