black pottery/ceramic stallion. please help!

Hi, I am looking for any information about this item. It is at least 20-30 years old. I am clueless about pottery and ceramics so forgive my ignorance.

It is probably 5-10 lbs and as you can see a little over a foot tall. Any leads on what this might be?

Hi John, It does not look to be a typical piece of majolica or Italian Pottery, the colors and design are not typical.
