Hi you all!
I'm Kelli, my husband Jerry and I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We started collecting two types of glass about 12 years ago - milk glass, and Murano. I still have the first piece that I found, which is what got me hooked - it's a pink Seguso dog, that I just love.
Over the next few years, our collecting hobby got to be a little much so we started selling some pieces on eBay. The milk glass and a few other types of glass we sold off, but we've kept our Murano pieces - the little dog, a great owl vase, several nice bowls etc. that we consider "OURS". We still had no clue who made any of it at that point. Just that it was "from Italy" and we liked the look of it.
Now we can more often than not recognize a piece when we see it, but it still takes a ton of research and with both of us still in our full time work years, this research is pretty time-consuming. And fun. And quite addictive, in a good way! We've got a large library on other types of glass, but only a couple of books on Murano - my goal is to add a book every 3 months if we buy new, or more often if we can find a good deal on used copies.
I registered just yesterday, in order to find out about a piece we found last weekend that just had "that look". TXsilver (Anita) identified it for us! Thanks, Anita, and I'll be here learning and hopefully helping in the future.
