to know if anyone has heard of this one. It is a scotty dog I think that either sits down on all fours(although his front paws don't touch,) or he can sit up in a begging style. It was distributed by the Hulse Import Co. and imported from Mirano Italy. It also has the stamp in the cork from Girolamo Luxardo Excelsior Trademark. I think this is the only one in the world. :)

Can anyone give me some insight to this unusual bottle.

thanks in advance,

Hello,
I saw read your post and am very curious to know if you've received any reply yet. I have 2 Ardo - Girolamo Luxardo Excelsior Trademark cherry wine bottles that feature a beautiful egyptian KING TUT head of ceramic - but looks like a stone sculpture.
Mine have a label from an import company"Old Peoria Co. in Minneapolis, Minn." The date stamped on the cork stamp is "1824" They are still corked and full of the wine. I'd love to get a value on the pair...I could email someone a photo of them (can I post a photo on this forum?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

SPmusic, sounds like you have a very interesting piece of glass, and would be very interested in a seeing a photo. You can post photos, as long as they arent too large (more that 8x8)

It took me awhile to get a digital photo of them but...at last, here is a photo of the Ardo egyptian heads - cherry wine bottles.
If anyone has any information they can provide about the value and age of these wine bottles...I would greatly appreciate it.

I forgot to include the measurements for the above pictured bottles..

They are almost 10" tall and exactly 7" wide.
They look like a pair of stone bookends because they are flat in the back with a center shallow hollow area.
I hope someone recognizes these and can give me alittle info. Someone told me there was a Luxardo book out there with info about his famous liquor bottles.....anyone know of this???
Thanks,
Sonia
