Hi, I just got this, and know nothing about it - other than it is stamped with *Made in Italy* on the bottom. It is 12.5 inches wide, and 9.5 inches tall. I bought it at a yard sale for $3 dollars (CAD).

I do not know if old, new, or has a value than more than I paid for it......I ONLY know that it is Pretty lol ;) TIA

Hi antiquerose123,
The basket is beautiful, well worth the $3! It looks to be a Capodimonte style basket, probably made recently. These style baskets are very popular, they are often used by gift companies for high end gift baskets.

Heres an example of a smaller, but similar basket:

Thank You very much Fossilfly...

Great reference there, as I was not sure what this was called. I really like the piece! :)

Is it was hand-made? On some of the weaved pieces you can see some flat areas -- like after they were made, they were laid down. So I wonder if that is why some areas appear a bit flat (?) You can see that in the pictures.

Thxs again.

Yes, it is handmade, or at least woven and glazed and painted by hand. Italian Pottery still takes quite a bit of handcrafting!
