I am new to Murano and looking to learn. I found this little gem the other day and want to make sure that I am identifying it correctly. It measures 7.5" wide by 3" height. Absolutely gorgeous gold and silver flecks (adventurine?) in a swirled pattern encased within clear glass. Floriform design?http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/7850/100062926uc.th.jpg (http://img203.imageshack.us/my.php?image=100062926uc.jpg)

Its probably Murano, but I'm not certain of any maker. I'll take a look around and see. Gold and Silver avventurine is not found too often, its usually only silver, gold or copper.

Looked at it real closely. It is definately silver and gold.

The bimorphic ashtray/bowls are difficult for me to figure out. This bowl made me think of one of the more unusual bowls that AVeM did. Yours isn't the same bowl -- the AVeM bowl is not cased. If you have Pina's Italian Glass 20th Century, the bowl is on Page 157. The rim and ribbing of your ashtray reminded me of this bowl.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. When I see bimorphic bowls, I think Seguso and Fratelli Toso -- they did so many of them -- but other companies could have done them as well.

I just found a sister piece to my bowl at moltabellaglass.com-The piece they are pictured is a vase with the same design as my bowl attributed to Ercole Barovier.

I dont think it's a Corodonato D' Oro, there is usualy more of a "braided cable" effect.
