What is this thing I bought at an estate sale? It is a 6" purple obelisk with 6 sides and then making a point. It has a signature laser etched in the bottom.
Please someone help me figure this piece out. It's really heavy. I think it's crystal. Thanks for your time.

Hi. Welcome to the forums! Can you post a picture of both the obleisk and the signature?
PS. I deleted the duplicate post for clarity, so all info is in one thread.
Thanks.

I see you know alot about Murano Glass - I have something I need your help with if you could. I have a very rare black oblisk paperweight signed by Archimede Seguso Murano and I've been told different figures as to it's value. You seem like someone who knows this stuff. Please email me back and I'll be glad to send you some pictures. I've had really high offers and have decided to keep it. It is very heavy and appears black but when the light hits it - it's a bluish - then bright purple. It has no scratches, no chips and is about 8 inches tall. It has perfect sides....My email is rsmith7011@gmail.com

The glass looks like it is deep alexandrite (AKA neodymium, alexandrit) glass. Alexandrite is purple under incadescent light and blue under flourescent light (or in the sun). I don't know the value of the piece. I'm not sure of the value of any piece anymore. :)

I know what you mean on the pricing, Anita. Prices are all over the place. It's crazy. :(
Nice Archimede Seguso piece though. I am sure it will fetch a pretty penny.

I looked at the obelisk again this morning and decided it may be amethyst instead of neodymium. Any ideas?
