A fun and frivilous posting about an artist in Murano making custom lamp sculptures of your own eyeball, 10x normal size. You pick the color and details and the artist, Livio Serena, will create it for you.

I can't say that I am in the market for anything similar, but it looks sorta cool, in a weird way.

Yes! I think I would prefer many other things before an eyeball lamp.

Out of curiosity, I googled Livio Serena, he has some great credentials in the biz, as they say!

orn in Murano in 1942, Livio Serena comes from a family involved for centuries with the art of glassblowing. At the beginning of the 16th Century, one of his ancestors invented the retortoli, a filigree technique also known in the 19th Century as zanfirico. His grandfather, Luigi, and his father, Ezio, were master glassmakers at the Moretti Ulderico & Company glassworks. In 1956, at the age of fourteen, Livio Serena joined one of the largest glassworks at the time, Fratelli Toso, where he worked until 1982. Since
1983, he has been working at the Anfora glassworks, one of Murano’s glassworks that still produces glass with the island’s traditional techniques. Livio Serena gifted with excellent technical ability and great virtuosity creates very fine muranese pieces of high quality and perfect finishing. He has been collaborating with well known international and national artists and designers and creates their dreams. He also collaborates constantly with the Scuola del Vetro Abate Zanetti teaching all levels of glassblowing techniques.
