I bought this for the label (yes i'm 1 of those), as I didn't have an example of this label.
I pain £9 for it so, no loss really.
To be honest I didn,t like the design, but having had it for a couple of months, every time I look at it, I've got to the stage where I really like the design now.

Back to the reason for this thread, what the hell do you think happened to the base?

It looks like it was not completely polished. I do not understand the steps in polishing a base, but I have had glass that have different finishes on the bottom. One looked like this. If I understand right, it has to do with the fineness of the wheel used for the polishing. Maybe someone can explain it better.

thats great info, Anita thanks,
What do you think of the bowl, the finish is quite good, it's 1 of those that grows on you?

I have seen a lot of the glass pieces with the Lavorazione Arte Murano label on them, but I am not sure who made them. Many of the bowls look like yours. I have always thought the pieces were pretty, though currently not collectible. I have a couple of things with the label and other similar pieces with the Crystal Clear Murano label. I've wondered if they are made by the same company, but haven't been able to find any information one way or the other. I wish we knew more about these type pieces.
