Hi all,
Here are some pics of a very bright bird I have had for a while and haven't been able to I.D. It measures approx 12" to the tip of the tail. Unfortunately there are no labels attached. Was hoping someone had seen something similar and might know who it could have been made by :p
Cheers,

Looks like Vaseline glass, do you know if it glows under a black light?

Wow, you're right Spartina it does glow. And I thought it was bright before! :) Does this help to give an approximate age? I'm not sure but didn't people stop using vaseline glass? thanks, Infract

There were some instances of vaseline glass made in Murano, but few and far between, in comparison to "regular glass". Due to the Uranium content which makes the glass glow, it stopped being manufactured shortly before WWII.
I dont know much more about it though.....

Cedenese has made some items with Vaseline glass, figurines mostly.

It was popular and discontinued but has since started being used again, for instance, Mosher makes vaseline glass cake stands. That rooster does look vintage and quite nice.
