Glass Disease

A short tidbit I found in my travels regarding cristallo glass. Cristallo glass typically has low amounts of lime in its composition, giving it the ability to be blown incredibly thin and light. The drawback to this low lime content is its tendency to craze, crack and cloud over many years, one of the reasons much antique Murano glass tends to be hazy in comparison to other types of glass from the same period.
