Greetings all,
This is my first visit to the murano glass forum and am very excited to be here. I use a wide variety of forums throughout the internet to gather info about things that I collect. If someone out there has any info on who made this piece, when, I know where, and if it has any value and would be interested in sharing it with an inexperienced Murano man, it would be greatly appreciated. My research has taken me to ebay and any other murano sites but so far I have not had any luck. The piece is in mint condition, no chips, breaks, scratches etc. Below are links to my pics. Again, Thanks much..........Roger

Welcome trabber! I hope you find the forums useful!
I took a look at your pics, the label on bottom of the vase, does it say "Made in Murano"?

Greetings,
Yes the label reads "made in Murano Italy" and is on the top inside lip. The bottom of the vase is unsigned and only shows the pontil mark and a few light scratches from ?some? years of being on a table. Many thanks.....Roger

Roger, I don't think you will be able to pin down a specific mfr; the label is generic Murano and the style doesn't immediately pinpoint a specific mfr. I would say it is more of a contemporary piece.

Thanks for the info. When you say generic do you mean a production piece for sale at the local glass store and not really an artisans work? Many thanks....I really appreciate that everyone is willing to volunteer their expertise for my sake. And by contemporary do you mean within the last ten years or so? ...........Roger

Yes, I would guess that the piece was made in the last 10 years, but as far as generic, I meant that it is not attributable to a specific manufacturer. In reality most Murano glass cannot be traced back to the creator without a label or signature, except in the case of the more high profile furnaces, (Venini, Salviati, Seguso, AVEM, Barbini and others) that are either written up in in books or have a general style that is recognizeable. Rest assured that the vase was made by an artisan, all Murano glass is, and this is what makes it special. The history behind all of the glass is amazing. Hope this helps :)
